Ryan Chase Steps Away from KRBE Morning Show After Nearly Two Decades
One of Houston’s most familiar morning voices is no longer on the air. Ryan Chase, who helped anchor 104.1 KRBE’s morning show for 19 years, has officially left the station. The update came on November 17, 2025, through KRBE’s parent company, confirming that Chase is no longer with Cumulus Media.
A Major Shift for a Long-Running Team

Chase joined KRBE back in 2006 alongside co-host Roula Christie and producer Eric Rowe. The three of them had already been working together for years, and their move to KRBE turned into a long run—23 years of partnership altogether.
Over time, The Roula & Ryan Show became one of Houston’s most recognizable morning programs, airing weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and building a steady, loyal audience.
What We Know About His Exit
The timing of Chase’s departure caught listeners off guard. Earlier in 2025, the show had been updated to “The Roula & Ryan Show with Eric,” giving Rowe a bigger on-air role. The team had also signed a new five-year contract, so no one expected a major lineup change this soon.
Roula addressed the situation on air and made it clear that the team couldn’t share much: “Nobody plans for this. We just signed a five-year deal. I know you want us to tell you things, but we cannot.” Eric Rowe said he was shocked and disappointed, echoing how many longtime listeners felt. Since the announcement, KRBE has updated its lineup to “The Roula Show with Eric ft. Special K & Sam.”
No Public Explanation Yet
KRBE hasn’t shared why Chase left, and Chase hasn’t commented publicly. His bio was removed from the station website shortly after the news came out, and his Instagram account disappeared around the same time. That led to plenty of speculation online, but there’s still no confirmed explanation.
Chase’s time at KRBE capped off a career that included earlier stops in New York and Dallas–Fort Worth, where he worked at stations like WXRK and 94.5 The Edge. His history in major markets has made this departure a closely watched story throughout the radio industry.
What’s Next for Ryan Chase?
Right now, there’s no confirmed information on Chase’s next move. As of late 2025, he hasn’t announced a new radio job, podcast project, or media venture.
KRBE is moving forward with its updated morning show, while many listeners are waiting to see where Chase’s voice might turn up next.
