Iran Attacks US Bases in Qatar and Iraq; Zero Casualties

Iran launched missile strikes at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq on June 23, stepping up tensions after recent US attacks on its nuclear sites.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps led the operation, calling it “Annunciation of Victory.” They directed missiles at Al-Udeid Air Base and another base in Iraq. Iran said the targets were far from civilian zones and chosen to match the US airstrike count.
Qatar, which received early notice of the attack, used its air defenses to intercept the missiles. No injuries or major damage were reported.
- Iran named the strike “Annunciation of Victory”
- Targets included major US military installations
- Qatar confirmed it blocked the missiles without injuries
- The attack followed US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites
A US defense official stated, “Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was attacked by short-range and medium-range ballistic missiles originating from Iran. At this time, there are no reports of US casualties. We are monitoring this situation closely and will provide more information as it becomes available.”
Iranian military leaders framed the strikes as a proportional response. They described it as necessary after the US-led bombings.
This latest exchange signals rising military risk in the region. However, Iran’s warning and Qatar’s swift response helped avoid immediate harm.
