Fire Destroys Tomorrowland Stage, Forces Last-Minute Changes

Just two days before Tomorrowland 2025 begins, a fire destroyed the main stage in Boom, Belgium. The fire broke out on July 16 during final preparations. No injuries have been reported.
Fire officials believe the blaze began during a pyrotechnics check. All 1,000 staff members were evacuated without injury. Investigators say the cause appears accidental, but they’re treating it as arson for now.
Tomorrowland will still open DreamVille on July 17. The festival’s Global Journey events in Brussels and Antwerp are also staying on schedule. Organizers are adjusting plans and setting up alternate stages to keep shows going.
The fire burned through most of the stage, which was built for this year’s “Orbyz” theme. Smoke clouds and loud pops filled the air as firefighters worked quickly to stop the flames from spreading.
One spokesperson said, “We are doing everything to keep the festival going and make it safe for everyone.”
- Fire hit the stage on July 16 during setup
- No one was hurt
- Fire started during a fireworks test
- DreamVille and city events are still happening
- Backup stages are now being prepared
While the fire changed plans, Tomorrowland will push forward with safety in mind and a focus on delivering music through other stages.
