Musk Breaks with Trump Over Spending Plan, Cites Epstein Ties

Elon Musk and Donald Trump have gone from allies to opponents. Their feud started with a disagreement over the government spending bill, but quickly turned personal.

Trump praised the “One Big Beautiful Bill” and supported its quick passage. Musk called it a “disgusting abomination” and said Congress didn’t give it enough review.

Trump replied by saying Musk was just upset about losing electric vehicle subsidies. He also suggested cutting off federal business with Musk’s companies.

Musk denied that his response had anything to do with subsidies. He said he never saw the bill before it passed. Then he brought up unrelated claims, saying Trump’s name was hidden in Epstein records and backing a social media post calling for impeachment.

Their conflict is having financial effects, too. Tesla’s stock dropped by 14%, wiping out $150 billion in value. The damage could impact future partnerships with the government.
