Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’ Passes at 79

Phil Robertson, who founded Duck Commander and starred in Duck Dynasty, died at 79. His family shared the news on May 25. They had announced his Alzheimer’s diagnosis several months earlier, in late 2024.

In a December 2024 episode of the Unashamed podcast, his son Jase described how quickly the symptoms progressed. Along with Alzheimer’s, Phil also suffered from a blood disorder, ongoing back pain, and signs of mini-strokes.

Jase Robertson also shared: “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! … We will see him again!”

His granddaughter Sadie Huff remembered: “One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!”

Beyond reality television, Phil also became known for speaking openly about faith and family. His message reached audiences through books, public talks, and ministry efforts. He leaves behind his wife, Kay, four sons, and many grandchildren.
