16 Billion Passwords Exposed in Record-Setting Data Breach
A data breach has exposed more than 16 billion login details, affecting users across top services like Facebook, Apple, Google, and several government platforms. Security experts are calling this the biggest collection of stolen credentials ever released.
Instead of breaking into these platforms directly, attackers pulled data from 30 leaked databases. They used malware to steal some credentials recently and included session tokens and cookies in the mix. This gives them the power to bypass normal security tools like password changes or two-factor codes.
